    3D Geomat slope protection refers to a new technology that utilizes active plants and combines engineering materials such as geosynthetics to construct a protective system with its own growth ability on the slope surface, and strengthens the slope through the growth of plants. According to the characteristics of the slope terrain, soil texture, and regional climate, a layer of geosynthetic material is covered on the surface of the slope and various plants are planted at certain combinations and intervals.

    Slope protection mechanism

    1. The purpose of root reinforcement and erosion prevention of stems and leaves can be achieved through plant growth activities. Through ecological slope protection technology, lush vegetation coverage can be formed on the slope surface, and complex roots can be formed in the topsoil layer, effectively preventing the corrosion of rainstorm runoff on the slope, increasing the compressive strength of the soil, reducing the pore water pressure and soil self gravity, and improving the stability and erosion resistance of the slope.

    2. When the vegetation coverage rate of the slope reaches more than 30%, it can withstand the scouring of light rain, and when the coverage rate reaches more than 80%, it can withstand the scouring of rainstorm. When the plants grow vigorously, the runoff flow rate that can resist erosion can reach 6m/s, which is more than twice that of ordinary grass.

    3.     Construction points

    1. Preparation before construction: Slope treatment

    Clean up the miscellaneous stones and debris on the slope, backfill and compact the low-lying areas to ensure a smooth slope surface.

    2. Laying a three-dimensional network

    (1) Pave the three-dimensional vegetation network along the slope surface from top to bottom, and maintain a smooth connection between the network and the slope surface.

    When pre embedding the three-dimensional mesh on the top of the slope, it needs to be extended by 40-80cm, buried in the soil and compacted.

    (3) Anchor the three-dimensional network from bottom to top ф The three-dimensional mesh is fixed with U-shaped steel bars of 6mm or more, with a length of about 15-30cm and a width of about 8mm. The spacing between U-shaped steel bars is about 1.5-2.5m, and 8 # U-shaped iron nails or bamboo nails are used as auxiliary fixation in the middle.

    After the laying of the three-dimensional vegetation network with soil covering, evenly cover the soil on the three-dimensional vegetation network, cover the network until there are no empty packages, and ensure that the soil thickness on the three-dimensional vegetation network is not less than 12mm. Then mix the fertilizer, auxin, and binder in a certain proportion evenly and sprinkle them on the surface.

    3. Spray sowing

    After the backfilling of the soil is completed, hydraulic spraying is carried out, which involves mixing and stirring the grass seeds and the adhesion agents, wood fibers, fertilizers, auxin, moisturizing agents, and water that promote their growth in a certain proportion to form a uniform mixture. The mixture is then evenly sprayed on the slope through a hydraulic spraying machine.

    4. Coverage

    After the completion of spraying and grass planting construction, cover the surface of the slope with non-woven fabric to maintain moisture on the slope surface and reduce the erosion of seeds by rainfall, promoting seed growth. If the temperature is too high, there is no need to cover it to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.

    5. Maintenance management

    After the completion of grass spraying construction, it is necessary to regularly maintain the lawn until it is flat. When the lawn grows to about 5cm, the non-woven fabric can be removed.
